Francisco Franco (Presidente 1938-1973) was not "the Right's only big victory". António de Oliveira Salazar (Primeiro-Ministro1932 to 1968) is another case to consider.

European sociocapitalism is avarice made palatable, even attractive. A return to civilisational values that are opposed to avarice is therefore the only solution to European sociocapitalism. That return will not be accomplished by materialist ideologies: where elites fear no God, they have fewer reasons not to be avaricious. Indeed, as materialism has spread as a belief through the centuries and across the continent, inequality has grown more and more obscene.

The great Reactionary Folly is to overthrow the state and then restore it. Sulla is the model for such.

The Bourbon monarchy had fallen. Franco destroyed the monarchy’s enemies, and then put it back together.

The Right has a dangerous habit of zombie politics.
